Show WILL PERFORM This group of young people will perform in Box Elder North stakes combined young artists and choral festival on Tuesday, Jan. 7:30 p.m. in the stake center. at 18, Newcomers may join the class at anytime. The craft class taught by Mrs. William Hadley is held each Monday at 1 p.m. Animals, robes, mod podge pictures and now purses made of rugs are the new feature of the class. Materials are available at the class and many of them are free of charge. Rugs are still being designed on Tuesday at 1 p.m. under the direction of volunteer Leon are Swensen. Mens Card North Stake Plans Youth Music Event With Senior Citizens Square Dancing Proves Popular The Box Elder North stake will present its combined young artists and choral festival on Tuesday, Jan. 18, at 7:30 p.m. in the stake center. Mrs. Wendell Christensen, chorister, and Mrs. Nyman Holmgren, organist, are in charge of the Square dancing is becoming a popular pastime for seniors citizens at the Brigham City Community center each Monday night, beginning at 7 p.m. Roy and Lucille Westley, directors of the Dance, urge all those advanced dancers as well as newcomers to attend. They will teach anyone who wishes to learn the dance. After the dancers become advanced enough, they may become special music event. Each ward in the stake will be represented by young artists and the choral group will sing music from the bode, Sing a New Song, collection of contemporary LDS songs geared to the young people of today. Any kind of cards may be played, along with checkers or chess. Sandwiches and coffee will be served for 25 cents right at noon and cards played after. Anyone interested may call the center or make up their own table of players. The ladies play on Wednesday and regular players come each Wednesday for lunch and a day of cards. A new members of the Golden Spike Swingers. Oil painting classes are available to members of the Spike club each Monday morning at 10 a.m. Paints are furnished for 25 cents for those who do not have paints. Colleen Bradford and Violet Hansen have been teachers for the past year. They are volunteer teachers and give of their time, due to the dedication of their work. Teaches Pool Class Milton Bywater teaches a ladies pool class each Thursday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Those interested may , come to the center at 10 a.m. to get into the class. This is an interesting precision game for men or ladies. Pool is available for men most anytime, the spokesman said. OUR GREAT JANUARY CLEARANCE IS NOW ON - Shuffleboard is played each Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 10 a.m. All seniors are invited to come in and learn the game, both men and women. Two new shuffleboard sets have been purchased and four courses are available. You dont have to go to Phoenix to play shuffleboard. It is right here for you. Bill Forrest is chairman and is most interested in getting everyone the spokesman playing, Organ Lessons more people are needed to start organ lessons on Friday afternoon in the senior center. Harmony House where the Hammond organ was purchased, will provide a teacher for a one hour lesson for $1 per person. Lessons will begin as soon as the class has been filled. Any interested persons may call the community center, for reservations in the class. A few 723-325- Potluck Dinner The regular birthday potluck dinner will be held on Jan. 17, at 4:30 p.m. Those wishing to attend to honor the January birthdays may sign up at the center or at the Friday luncheon, to bring a favorite dish. The spike club will furnish a meat dish and the salads, rolls, pickles, au gratin potatoes, baked beans and string beans. Cake may be brought. Instead of a program after the dinner, bingo will be played. Each person participating should bring a white elephant or 25 cent.
