Their children, Valerie, 1, and Dana Barnes, 6, were transferred from the local hospital to the LDS hospital and later released. Meets Other Car The van met another car coming up the canyon in the same lane and Hutcheson veered the vehicle to the left to avoid collision, Trooper Gillman explained. The vehicle hit a soft shoulder and the driver lost control. The van went off the bank and overturned. The two children were lying a mattress in the back of the on truck, and were ejected through side double doors. Mrs. Hutcheson, the most seriously injured, was thrown through the front windshield. She was not wearing a seat belt but Hutcheson was, according to Trooper Gillman. Hutcheson and the two girls suffered cuts and abrasions. Two Brigham City ambulances were dispatched to the scene. The van was a total wreck, according to the investigating officer. The accident, which happened on U.S. 89 inside the Brigham City limits, caused heavy holiday traffic to jam. Brigham City police aided highway patrol troopers in directing traffic.
