I Information Aired Box Elder county schools will definitely open on Monday Aug. 1 30 as originally scheduled and plans were announced this week to hold annual Institutes for district employes. Supt. J. C. Haws said a pre. school institute for all new tea. chers will be conducted on Wed. nesday, Aug. 25, In the choral room at Box Elder High school. Starting time for the session will be 9 a.m. Professional employes and bus drivers and secretaries will meet together the following day, Aug. 26, In the school starting at 9 a.m. And on Friday, Aug. 27, all district employes will be at their stations to prepare for the persons which Is approximately the same number as last year. A reduction of 12 teachers In elementary schools will be offset by the employment of teachers for full-terkindergarten, being Initiated In the district for the first time this year. Kindergarten classes will be conducted In every major grade school, Including Bunder son and Lake View schools In Brigham The latter two were City. not Included In earlier plans. schools at Grouse Only Creek, Park Valley, Howell and Bothwell will not have kindergarten classes. The superintendent explained that bus transportation will be provided the youngsters In areas where practical because of the number Involved, However, In some Isolated cased, It will be necessary for parents to take their children to school and then receive payment In lieu to transportation according to school borad policy. A child must live at least U2 miles from school In order to qualify for bus transporta, tlon.
