"These are crucial times for tuberculosis control that demand strong leadership. With the development of tools and methods by which TB can be ' t X ' eliminated, and particularly since Utah, having less TB, is closer to elimination than most states, leadership is needed to protect the public while the tools are effective, Zenger explained. TIME IS running out on the drug treatment tool which dramatically renders a TB patient sp he cannot spread his disease to others But the TB germs are developing resistance to the drugs. Its a race to see if Utah can be virtually free of TB before the drugs to control the disease become useless, Zenger said.
