Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Jensen spent the winter in Mr. Phoenix, Ariz. and Mis. Thirl Christensen of Bountiful, and Mr. and Mrs. Irving Christensen spent a few days in San Fernando, Calif., visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dee Christensen. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Thorsen visited 'their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. George Penovitch, in San Francisco. While there they witnessed the baptism and confirmation of Mr. Penovitch. Taylor has returned home after spending some time in California where he was seriously ill Mrs Melba Checketts is substituting at school for Mrs. Elvira Christensen who is ill. Friday afternoon the Primary officers and teachers of the ward met at the home of Mary Gardner to show their love and appreciation for the work she did in that organization in Elwood, before moving here. A pot luck lunch was enjoyed and they presented the guest of honor with a lovely gift. The Gardners purchased the home of Merlin Anderson. Mr. and Mis. Neil Nelson are the proud parents of a baby son born March 6 in the Tremonton hospital. Mrs. Nelson will be remembered as Merlyn Laub of Tremonton. Mr. and Mrs. Theone Hansen received a new addition in their family Tuesday, March 7 in the Brigham City hospital. The new baby boy will be welcomed at home by one sister and four brothers. Mr. and Mrs. Vernal Anderson were dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Thompson of Garland last Sunday. Mrs. Leone Hansen was hostess at a very lovely open house Wednesday evening in the amusement hall in honor of her son, Darwin and wife. Many friends and relatives called to wish them success in their married life. They received many useful as well as beautiful gifts. Delicious refreshments were served. Mrs. Ruby Andrson returned to her home Thursday after having surgery ten days previous. Mary Holman is visiting in Ogden with her daughter, Ronella ONiel. Richard (Rickie) Nessler had the misfortune of getting three fingers on his right hand pinched his uncle Elmo while helping Christensen load cement blocks last Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Mario Checketts left Saturday morning to visit with relatives in Phoenix, Ariz. Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Burt spent last weekend in Elko, Nev. Mrs. Rita Anderson and Mrs. Myrtle Anderson spent Friday in Salt Lake City. From the reports received, Dee Ann Nelson and Dick Troseth are busy in their missionary work and are enjoying it very much. Dee Ann is in Sweden and Dick is laboring in Norway. Nola Nessler and Carrie Christensen called at the St. Benedicts hospital Saturday and said hello to Mrs. Ruby Anderson who has had surgery, and Mrs. Virgil Weidman who has a new son. Then to the Dee hospital to see Gaylen Christensen who has had surgery.
