Byron Burt, a former Brigham City resident, is the author of a book of poems published recently by Villiers of London. Burt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Burt of West Brigham, has been traveling and writing in Europe for the past four months. The book, Children of the Sea, and other poems is Burts first published works. The local writer graduated from Box Elder High school in 1948 and later attended Utah State University where he earned both his BA and MA degrees. He majored in English at USU. Burt went to England in June after working in New York and New Jersey for 14 months He left England after about two weeks and since has been touring the European countries of Italy, Spain, France and Germany. He arrived back in New York early this month and plans to return to Brigham City the first of the year. He intends to work toward his doctors degree, probably at USU.
