Fullmer Allred, county extension agent with the USU. You cant count on enough rain to do the job. It takes one to two inches of moisture to wet each foot of dry soil. Usually it is necessary to put on three to four inches of moisture in an irrigation to replace the water removed by the crop. A half inch rain storm can wet the soil only about six to twelve inches deep whereas a good irrigation will wet down two to three feet. The next time it rains, determine how much water you need on the field. You will usually need at least three to four .Inches Considering your needs and the amount of rain which falls, Allred says, you will recognize that in most cases it pays to ignore the rain and go right on irrigating. ! A FLOOR-shithree speed manual transmission is standard equipment in the Newport and Windsor series.
