Cowley, New Member, Takes Oath of Office Here Next Week Loren Hunsaker was elected president of the Box Elder County Board of Education for the year 1956 at the regular meeting of the board held Jan. 10. Elected to act as vice president was W. Durrell Nielsen. Hunsaker will fill the position 'held for the past year by Wayne Sandall whose term of office expired with the first meeting in elected District 3 representative was LaMoin E. Cowley, Tremon-ton- , who replaces Sandall on the board. Accept Remodeling Projects The board officially accepted the remodeling project at the Promontory school and the new recreation hall at the Bothwell school. They also accepted an audit report submitted by Theron B. Lee, C.P.A., for the school" year 1954-55- , transferring some funds as suggested and taking steps to tighten-uthe handling of money ln'the elementary schools of the district as recommended. For this purpose a committee was named, consisting of all board members, Suplt. Kenneth E. Weight, Hervln Bunderson and Eberhart Zundel, clerk; J. D. Gunderson and Ford Jepp-sorepresenting the elementary schools; the principals of the two secondary schools; and one person each from North and South Box Elder counity PTA areas. Study Playground Needs A report on . the Study for standardization of playground areas was presented and accepted and an additional study was requested to determine needs and financing. The board members gave considerable attention o the organization of the new junior division at Bear River High school and the division of responsibil-iie- s between the newly appointed principal, Kleon Kerr and Principal Stevens of the senior division. Floor Show To Be Featured At Stake Dance An entertaining floor show will be the highlight of the North stake dance Saturday night, Jan. 14, at the Fourth ward recreation hall. The dance begins at 8:30 ip. m. Featured on the floor show will toe musical numbers toy Mr. and Mrs. Perc Petersen, a comic song and dance skit by Perc Petersen and Harold Felt, and a saxophone solo by Vern Petersen. Another feature of the floor show will be the first showing s of the MIA Dance in this area. Which wlill be presented by twelve girls from the First ward, under the direction of Mr. and Mrs. Grant Prisbrey. Kay Shumans dance band will furnish the music for dancing and special decorations are being worked out by the Fourth ward Junior and Junior Gleaners. Refreshments will toe sold throughout the evening. Arrangements for the evening are under the direction of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Tanner, dance directors, and Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Cosgrove, assistant dance directors, who invite everyone to attend.
