Brigham Farmer Featured In June at Farm News al r?? LOOK Traffic Hazard Eliminated .A potential traffic hazard has been eliminated by the Brigham City police department. If, that is, everybody will note the change of traffic regulations on Forest street. Instead of the boulevard stops along the highway, a stop sign has been placed on each corner of the streets crossing Forest from Eighth west to Sixth east. , For years there has been no signs on the streets crossing Forest street. Consequently, California-lik- e driving along the thorouhas been the result, gh-fare When two cars arrived at the intersection, one on Forest and the other on the crossing street simultaneously, there was often a battle of the brave. The bravest taking the right of way, and the weakling giving the right of way. There have been cases when the battle was fought on equal grounds both drivers of equal bravery. The result! has been anything from well bent fenders to thoroughly smashed automobiles, This is to say nothing of the accidents that have occured. Now there is no doubt who has the right of way the man driving east or west on Forest street. And there is no doubt about who should stop the car going north or south. As Police Chief Harry Smith pointed out, there is an ordinance that states: every driver of a vehicle approaching a stop sign shall stop before entering the cross walk. We intend to enforce that regulation to the letter, Chief Smith said. Because Forest street is wide, and long, especially on the west side of town, it is conducive to driving faster than is safe. The police department again warned that the speed limit on Forest is 25 miles an auto-pedestri- hour. This law, too, the police department warned, will be enforced. Now is the time to make the trip for sight seeing pleasure, not during duck season when you spend all of your time gazing into the stratosphere looking for a lame goose. The geese, momma in front and papa in the rear, are sedately paddling across the immense ponds with the little geese in between. A beautiful sight, it is only one of the many that can be seen at the refuge. To get a close look at many of the birds, now one need only drive around the long dike. The feathered animals, most of whom are now in the middle of mating season, are unusually brave. They practically refuse to fly. t faala right.
