Utah Friday, April 28, 1950 Ready Migs For Services For Mr. Tournament Ipsen Are Today Funeral services for Mansfield Henry Ipsen, 60, who died Tuesday at 7:30 oclock in the evening at hLs home In Corlnne of a heart ailment, will be conducted Friday at 2 oclock in the afternoon in the Corlnne ward chapel, with Bishop Henry Norman officiating. Mr. Ipsen was born October 9, 1899, In Bear River City, a son of James P. and Mary Ipsen. He attended school at Bear River City. He spent 18 months in the Philippines in World War 1. For the past 19 years he has lived in Corlnne, He was a sojjool bus driver and served as Janitor of the Corinne school for nine years. He was a member of American Legion post number 10 in Brigham City, and was a member of the L. D. S. church. Ho married Maggie Jensen July 30, 1931, in Ogden. Surviving are his widow; three stepsons, Willard and Ray Jensen, Corinne; Frank Jensen, Brigham City; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Mayme J. Wells, Corlnne; 10 and six a sis-teMrs. Esther Jensen, Brigham City, and three brothers: Leonard Ipsen, Ogden; Rutger and Otto Ipsen, Bear River City. Burial will be In Brigham City cemetery, under the direction of the Harold B. Felt fu- neral home. . , Friends may call at the family home in Corlnne today, Friday, prior to services. 1 r, Conservation District Officers Are Announced i f i i rrf JWj t , I ubin g - - ers v ? , cs "4sj2y"' C $1.00 $1.69 Cine J School Boys Three men wore elected supervisors of the South Box Elder soil conservation district recently to assist three others appointed by the state soil conservation in thd administration of its business, it was recently announced by the Utah State Soil Conservation committee. Elected were Merl Beecher, Ernest E. Johnson and H. Eugene Perry. Those defeated in the election were J. D. Christensen, R. G. Mackey, J. Wesley Perry and Ed Ward. In anticipation of the annual V. F. W. marble tournament, boys of (Honeyville, i Corinne, Mantua, Perry and the Lincoln and Central schools of Brigham City are spinning their best taws for the tournament, to be held as a part of the Youth Week celebration on Saturday afternoon, April 29, at the Rees Pioneer park. The event will take place at 4 oclock following the ball game, according to Charles J. Kimber, V. F. W. post comman-der- . School winners will compete the city championship and city winners will compete at Bountiful on May 6 for the state competition. The state winner will then be given a trip to the V. F. W. National Home for war orphans at Egton Rapids, Michigan, for the national competition, Kimber stated. First, second and third place medals will be awarded to school winners and also to the city champs, at a meeting to be held at the War Memorial home on Thursday evening, May 4. City Youth officials will make the presentations.
