News of Grouse Creek Attorney joins firm David Kimbers welcome new baby boy into this community by Marge Thompson When the population of a community gets around 100 every new baby is special. And this week we do welcome the new baby boy of David and Elizabeth Kimber. The six pound eight ounce child was born Sunday morning at the Brigham hospital. Betty has spent a few days with her aunt, Mrs. Chloe Tanner, in Brigham. David and daughter went down Friday, back home Saturday, then was called back Sunday. Other happy family members are Wade, 5, and Lisa, 2. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Kimber, Grouse Creek, Mr. and Mrs. Afton Nye, Malta, Idaho. This was also an exciting weekend for Bryan Blanthorns, Milton Omans and Davey Hairstons. The three men entered the Diamondfield Jack endurance race from Rock Creek to Jackpot, Nev. This was the fifth annual race with 50 riders participating. Many of the riders were women. The race began Saturday at 9 a.m. at Crockett Meadow. It took about three hours actual running time with stops to water and care for horses. The distance was 54 miles. Bryans horse was frightened by the helicopter and had to be taken out very soon in the race. Davey and Milton didnt win Doctor opens practice either but all said they had a lot of fun. The first prize of $500. was won by a girl. Ironically, it was the same girl that was thrown from her horse in the race, and courteous Davy went back to help her. All families reported a good time. Milton and Marsha Oman and daughters, Sara Ann and Audra, were in Yost Friday night with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Oman. Marshall and Rose Ann Tanner came out from Salt Lake Wednesday to show grandparents, Herb and Vera Tanner, their new baby. The Tanners were returning to their home in Furlong, Calif., where Marshall is stationed in the U.S. Army. They brought their baby, Casey Lynn to Salt Lake to have him blessed and named so grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Tanner, could participate. were also here for the weekend from Ogden with their parents. Grant and Naomi Kimber. Douglas and Kathleen Tanner and girls of Snowville visited their parents. Max and Melissa Tanner, Dell and Ella Tanner, over the weekend. Doug came to ride for cattle also. Spending the weekend with Reese and Irma Warburton and family were Boyd Wolsten-hulm- e of Driggs, Idaho and his son Steve, who is teaching at BYU Boyd is here putting in a pipeline trench for the Attorney David B. Dryden has joined the local law firm of Dale.M. Dorius in the practice of law in Brigham City. The firm will be known as Dorius and Dryden ahd is located at 29 South Main Street, Brigham City. The firm also has an office at 47 South Main, Gunnison. school in Malta. Corie stayed with the Warburtons. Blair, Brian and Blake Thompson were here Saturday and Sunday to help Hughie Thompson with farm work. Blair returned Sunday to attend a farewell testimonial for a friend, Val Thurston. Karla and Reed Beecher and three sons were here from Bountiful to spend the weekend with her parents, Oren and Opal Kimber. War-burton- Bryan and Bobbie Blanthorn were in Logan Monday for dental apopintments. They took their daughter, Janet, back to college in Salt Lake after spending the weekend with Bobbis parents, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Archibald in Wellsville. A birthday party for little Jodi Tanner was a big occasion this weekend. She is the daughter of Blaine and Julie Tanner of Burley, Idaho and is now one year old. A pack meeting for the cub scouts was held on Wednesday evening at the recreational hall. A roller skating party was enjoyed along with a luncheon. Those attending were Joey and Jeff Berchtold and mother, Gail n Harris, Chad and Vance and parents, Dwight and Carol Warburton, Quentin Kimber, Dean Barnedt and mother, Judy Rae Barnedt, Jeffrey and Chris Warburton and parents, Reese and Irma Warburton. Roger Olsen, deputy sheriff, was here Saturday to investigate stolen property. George Bozinoff, of Southeast Lucin, ran out of gas down on the flat. While he was coming back to Grouse Creek for gas someone stole his tools and tool box, valuing approximately $200. Bob and Marilyn Wakefield and their baby daughter Bobbi Jo, drove out from Plain City Saturday for a short visit and to check on the homestead here. Celebrating his eighth birthday anniversary on Saturday was Jeff Berchtold. He was honored by having several boy friends spend Friday overnight at his home. Then on Saturday evening grandparents, Rhea and Archie Toyn, Pearl and Ed Harris joined the family for an entertaining evening. Dennis and Lorraine Kimber and family of Logan were weekend visitors of their mother, Mrs. Annie Kimber, and Emily. War-burto- Dr. Calvin R. Dr. Petersen is a 1971 graduate of the University of Utah and has been residing in northern California for the past several years where his wife Sharon has been completing her Ph.D. at Stanford university. The couple have a son, Dane, age two. Dr. Petersen has been a psychologist for the Utah Division of Mental Health, the Defense department, and has been a part-tim- e instructor at the University of Utah, Golden Gate college, and Chapmari college. He has published in books and scientific journals and is listed in Whos Who in the West. The Petersens plan to make their home in Brigham. The Showell Brothers of Snowville were visitors of Ray Kimbers Sunday as they came to get their cattle also.
