Budget glides past hearing, TV gets airing Brigham City's proposed general fund budget received little attention during Thursdays weekly city council session but installation of a cable television system here did come in for questioning. The council session doubled as the forum for a second public hearing on the budget but there were few citizens on hand and $2,203,620 none had any questions or comments. Neither did any citizens listening to the proceeedings over Station KBUH. And so after brief remarks, Mayor Harold B. Felt said the council would concentrate attention at putting the budget into final form for adoption in two weeks. Comments made by council members indicate that, while utility rate and other service increases may be approved as part of the budget package, a recommended property tax raise in the general fund likely will not be passed. Street Improvements Councilman Dale Baron made one observation in connection with budgeting, that local residents who want street improvements should organize their neighbors and request inclusion in a special improvement district. Dale Garner, representing Utah Cable Television, was the target for several questions on current installation of cable locally. Mayor Harold B. Felt said citizens have complained about the cable crews coming onto their property. A report from the inspection department relayed information from Mountain Bell that cables were being strung on telephone company poles before Red Cross cites 7 City.
