Herbert is one of four law enforcement administrators in Utah to be named to the Archie Earl Buchanan, 84, of Elwood, died Thursday, Aug. 5, 1976 at the McKay-De- e hospital in Ogden of cancer. He was born March 25, 1892, in Mexico, a son of ARchibald W.O. and Caroline Sophia Sorensen Buchanan. He married Florene Davis Feb. 7, 1917 in the Manti LDS temple. He was a farmer. He was reared and educated in Sevier county, attended the University of Utah and Utah State Agricultural college in Logan. He was a member of the Utah State and Box Elder county fair boards, a past member of the Tremonton Lions club, director in the Federal Land Bank of Tremonton and a past member of the Elwood Town Board. He and his wife filled an LDS mission in Florida from 1963 to Advisory committee. In a letter to Herbert, Gov. Calvin L. Rampton told Herbert that the Utah Council on Crim-iniJustic Administration is forming the advisory committee to direct activities of a statewide criminal prevention program.
