Our prices go up immediately, but we cannot raise our rates that fast, he said. Kastler said the actual im- Dallas . of the increases on Mountain Fuel customers has not yet been determined, but the Jan. 1 increase will probably be much less than the increase pact announced for July 1. The FPC already allows some producers in the Rocky Mountain area to charge more for some gas than the 23.5 cents announced as the Jan. 1 price, Kastler said. It is our understanding those higher prices will remain unchanged. To the extent they do remain unchanged, our rates will remain unchanged, he said. Will Take Time It will take us several days, perhaps weeks, before we can evaluate and determine the exact impact the increase actually has on our company. We must then document that impact and file with the Utah and Wyoming Public Service commissions for a change in our rates. This is why we need more than one days notice. Kastler pointed out the increase will have a secondary impact on Mountain Fuel customers. Prices will be increasing for the gas the company buys from pipeline companies too, and as those increases are passed along, another increase will probably have to be sought. AARP - R. Lane J.
