The Jaycees should be commended for providing so much fun for the children of the community, as well as all the "old" folks watching the kid; have so much fun. Since Mrs. Society Editor had to work in the morning, the kids and hubby began picking the cherry crop amid complaints of slavery on Independence Day. Payment by the pound toward in the park . the day's celebration did help out the problem, however. To the Park lunch, the three children were sent off to the park and arrangements made to pick them up at a given place. Little Miss planned to swim after exhausting her resources, and the boys planned to get involved in the greased pig, pole climb, and other races of the day. ' At pickup time, Suki wanted to go for the ride, too. She probably sensed the family was headed for Pioneef Park and Could hardly wait to get out and pwim in the water. For the lack of a stick, the small boys playing with her began throwing a big hunk of watermelon rind into the water for her retreive while the family .waited to watch Little Miss get dunked in the dunking booth, clothes and all. : isNpor-o- k LAVU SPRItMLEllggg throw it away just resulted in another retrieval, so the family finally let her take it to the car. Young Son and Littlest Brother had been extended an invitation to go to the park with a neighbor family to watch the fireworks, while Little Miss had two friends coming to play with the kittens and to sit with Editor family on the roof to watch the citys display after all had watermelon in the back yard. The lure of the roof won out, and the three boys joined the girls on the roof and oohs and aahs and counting for the loud pops were a fitting climax to the day, followed by the familys less spectacular sparklers. Finally the day ended with the three Editor children stretched out in sleeping bags in the backyard to top off their Fourth of July. IH REG.
