Show as far as Party Line is concerned is finding something to chat with you about. The last minute i ush is on as families try to squeeze in a vacation between the end of summer recreation programs and start of school. Take Family Mr. and Mrs. Grant Thompson and children Beverly, Drew Tiffanie from a delightful ten days that took them to the beautiful Northwest for a holiday. They went first to Seattle and spent some time with her brother and had a chance for a ocean cruise on his yacht. They toured Victoria and were especially impressed with the famous Butchart Gardens. They toured Olympic National park and hiked through wild flowers and snowdrifts. They Shauna, "Sugar and spice and all thats nice. We found out this week that not only are little girls like that but it can be said of twelve-yea- r We've olds too. had out old granddaughter Jan, visiting us this week. Weve tried all summer to get her to come but you know how busy you are when you get to be twelve. Youre involved in so much that you "just can't miss. Its been fun having her and learning just what is fashionable for the young miss to wear to school and also just what it takes to get that long hair to look just right. She starts seventh grade next year and all of you parents know that when an offspring reaches that age they are no longer small fry or in other words your problems up to then have all been little ones. One thing that isnt a problem have and just returned also saw two bears. Coming the Oregon coast they gathered sea shells and frolicked in the Oregon San Dunes. The return trip also brought them past the Crater Lake area. Mr. and Mrs. John Linford and children Steven, David and Jeannette from Columbus, are Brigham City visitors for three weeks. They are houseguests of his parents Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Linford. They are planning on visiting other relatives in this area during their stay. Stork Reports Mr. and Mrs. Kim B. Lester are so happy with their new baby son, born on July 22. He is their first child and they have a name all picked out, Michael Shane. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Roy E. Lester of this . Ross city and Mr. and M,-sdown BOX ELDER NEWS, Brigham City, Utah Christensen, Orem. Over at the Carl Becksteads they have a new baby son born on Aug. 3. They are calling him Paul William. He has five big brothers and a sister; Bob, Becky, Phillip, Shane, Cody Ben and Tim. Mrs. Vida R. Beckstead, Preston, Idaho and Mrs. Marv Jewkes, Orangeville, Ut. are grandparents. Comes Here and Mrs. Vern (Nancy) Holt are Brigham City visitors for 16 days. They are houseguests of her parents Dr. and Mrs. R.W. Fishburn and are also visiting his folks Mr. and Mrs. Ron Endress. Sp-- 4 Poetry Society Slates Workshop Box Elder of the Utah chapter Poetry Society will meet at the home of Kathryn Jaggi, 504 South Fourth West, on Thursday, Aug. 17, at 7:30 p.m. for a workshop session. Anyone desiring analysis of an original poem should bring 12 to 14 copies of it to the meeting to place in the hands of the listeners. Writers of poetry who are interested in becoming members of the new Box Elder chapter are invited to attend the workshop session. That evening they will be honored at in the Brigham City Community center. Miss Wells is a graduate of Box Elder High school and LDS Seminary. She will be a senior student at Utah State university in the fall, with a major in speech pathology. At USU, she is affiliated with Kappa Delta sorority. A graduate of Big Piney, Wyo., high school, the prospective bridegroom attending Wyoming Junior college at Casper and is now a senior student in aeronautical engineering at Utah State university. Following their marriage, the couple will reside in Logan. Commuoity.Club PlaitlWhEfal ; Couples Picnic Members of Ladies Community club and their partners will gather at the Rees Pioneer Park Bowery Thursday, Aug. 17 at 7 p.m. for their annual summer party and time for new club members. The event will include a dinner followed by a program under the direction of LaVon Reeve, who reports that a variety show is scheduled to be presented by Michael Carver and young people of the area. Hostesses for the annual occasion will be officers and board members headed by Sharon Carver as president and including Norma Price, Lana Cheney, Ann Houggard, Sharon Ward, Mary Olsen, Francine Beecher, Doris Baugh, Carol Jenkins, Beth Anderson, Rachel Daines, Eva Peart, Joan Kelly and Joan Kimber. New members of the club and their husbands will be special guests and a brief introduction of club activities will be included on the program, as well as presentation of the club yearbooks for the coming season.
