'BUT TO THE MEN who are involved and to the observers around them, it certainly represents more than a formality. It signals the termination of a continuing senes of sleepless nights, hurried meetings early and late, from some citizens, plaudits from others, and the constant strain of helping to guide the fortunes of an 68 million corporation. True, the job could be a relative easy one. Cutting corners of responsibility, missing meetings, sitting silent while others make the decisions. Yet from where we stand, the increasingly heavy load being steadily dumped on individuals and businesses is non chit-chmaterial. We believe it to be a serious threat to everyone involved and thats just about everyone. ITS DISCONCERTING not only because of existing levies but also because the upward trend is not likely to change. Sure, we experienced a federal income tax cut last year and the governor lopped 1.10 mills off the state school equalization levy.
