The auto also captured second in the full custom class. Work on the auto was done by Ray Ward, body shop foreman for Coppin Motor company in Brigham City. Ward said work on the car extended over an eight-wee- k period. Included in the custom styling changes were extensive alterations of the front and rear ends. Some of the most noticeable features were addition of a third tail light and air s scoops on the rear deck, from a 1951 Pontiac, simulated air scoops on the sides, changing of position of front head lights and remodeling of front end with new grill. Pearl red is the name given to the exterior custom paint mix while inside, the dash and trim are painted candy flake red, also custom. The tire rims have been reversed and chrome plated. Ward said it would be difficult to estimate the cost involved. Byrd who is a member of the Bonnevills Rod and Custom club plans to enter the A custom- -styled bum-perette- in the Montana State Auto show later this month.
