Lunch was served at noon, with a program and business meeting following. Special recognition and honor was paid to Patriarch Nephi J. Valentine, aged 94, a lifelong resident of Brigham City. Next invitational tournament of the season will be sponsored by the Riverside club, completing the golfing sessions for the northern division for this summer. It is scheduled for Aug. 17. Mrs. Abel S. Rich of Brigham City attended the Lemuel Hardison Redd family reunion on Friday and Saturday, July 27 and 28. The reunion was held at Logaan on Friday, with a family picnic held in the Millcreek area in Salt Lake City on Saturday. Family members were present from as far north as Canada and as far south as Juarez, Mexico. Mrs. Rich reports that 294 family members were present for the annual event, including one woman who gave an interesting report of her early recollections. for the Master of ceremonies event was Bill McConkie, and an interesting program was presented at the occasion. A fitted cummerbund type waist was complimented by a double pleated nylon chiffon skirt. Completing the ensemble was a waist length tapered veil of bridal illusion caught up to a dainty beaded tiara. RECEIVING special honors was Mrs. Hyrum W. Valentine, who recently had the story of her life published. She presented the head of each family with a copy of her autobiography. Jay Valentine was master of ceremonies for the program. Following the presentation of, numbers, the election of officers was held. Elected were Grant Valentine of Suit Lake Cily as president, Dele Valentine of Ogden as vice president, Jay Valentine of Brigham City as secretary, and LaMar Valentine of Brigham Cily is reunion chairman for next year.
