A sharp increase in jobs made available, and an even steeper climb in unemployment characterized the Utah labor market durreing the week ended Feb. 3, ported Douglas Miller, manager of the Brigham City employment security office. Job offers at 1,008 were 262 more than the week before, and 317 more than for the same week a year ago, he said. But unemployment, aggravated by unusually poor weather, was at the highest point so far this winter. As of last weekend. Miller pointed out, 5.3 percent of Utah's insured workers claimed unemployment compared to 5.9 percent a year ago. This represents 11,578 individuals, he said.
