Included in the program will be parents of Bunderson area children who will enter first grade in 1962. i.. . pre-scho- Family Life Education Program - Gets Underway Locally Sept. 28 Brigham City is one of several communities in four western states to be selected to participate in a special project m studying famin the Rocky ily life education Mountain area. Bunderson school has been chosen to represent one of the ten schools in Utah to participate in this experiment. The grouping that has been chosen for Bunderchilson is parents of dren. Parents whose first child will enter first grade in September, 1962 at Bunderson school will discussion participate in this group in the study planned for the pre-scho- area. Z THAT 24. I ' ELECTRIC THUNDER OVER HAWAII women, experts in this type of work, have attended a workshop at USU this past summer and they will lead this discussion group. The leaders are Mrs. Malcolm McDonald, an active PTA worker, and Mrs. Eldon Coffman, a teacher at Intermountain school. The group will meet at Hervin Bunderson school, 641 East Second North, each week for six to ten weeks, beginning Thursday, Sept. 28. Meeting times will be from s 7:30 to 10 p. m. and eligible are urged to attend and join the study group. TWO LOCAL high age. National Congress of Parents and Teachers and the American Social Health Association are beginning the second year of their joint effort to improve the amount and quality of family life education in the Rocky Mountain area. as identified This organization, the Rocky Mountain Project in Family Life education, has projects in Utah, Arizona, Nevada and New Mexico. General aim of the project has been to select pilot operations that will be both unique and experimental and will contribute to the stability of family lile in the area and elsewhere. MUCH PLANNING and preparation have gone into the project m as to be carried out in Brigham City. Mrs. Calvin S. Andrus, Bunderson PTA president, has been local chairman for the drive, along with Edward Ward, who is workwith the ing as liaison officer school board.
