City, Utah City Stays Decision In District Dispute 635-1-- 62 Wi Brigham City, Utah, Tuesday Morning, May 16, 1961 The Brigham City council Thursday night granted a stay of execution on its decision to kill or to move ahead with Special Improvement District No. 13. The postponement is intended to let proerty owners reconsider their previous stand on the issue. A vote saw officais set May 24 at 5 p m as a deadline for receiving petitions supporting the project. This move was based on the belief that many persons who had signed protests amounting to 51.3 had changed their minds since a public hearpercent of the district ing last Tuesday. r The lone disenting vote was cast by Councilman Olof Zundel who, as head of the street department, has headed up the improvements It was his contention proposal. that the council should proceed to set up the district and accept bids. Nick Smith of Edward L. Burton company, Salt Lake City, financial agent for the city, pointed out that certain streets showing the heaviest percentage of protests could legally be deleted from the district.
