Plan Summer Kindergarten It was approved by the board that summer kindergarten be held commencing June 1, and ending July 10 to provide instruction to students who will be enrolled m fust grade beginning in September. The kindergartens will be set up to serve the various areas as Contest Plans ( Show Progress beauties Elder county were reminded this week of the many rewards awaiting this years winner of county Dairy Princess competition sponsored by the American Dairy Association of Utah. Many counties will conduct Princess competition in connection with June Dairy Month observances. The reminder came from tall, lovely Elon Mangelson, Ephraim, Sanpete county, who reigns this year as the states Dairy are Princess. Winner of last years Dairy Princess competition in Box Elder county was Edna Rae Anderson of Brigham City. Each county winner this year a scholarship to will receive Brigham Young University or Utah State University, provided she meets scholastic requirements-and her applicaton is filed prior to July 1. Every county winner will also participate m the state Dairy Princess final judging at Hotel Utah in Salt Lake City in November, with the climax coming in a televised extravaganza sponsored by Utah Oil Refining company. The Utah winner will compete in the national finals in 1960. To be eligible for this years competition, girls must be 16 25 years of age, high school graduates, and have a dairy backWallace A. The five and six period plan was approved by the board as an emergency program.
