Thompson of Brigham City, is taking pait in tlje years largest West Coast amphibious landing exercise, with the 1st Marine Division from Camp Pendleton, Calif., during Sept. 3 13. With a brand new season ahead, Jordan will be aiming to s erase the memory of two seasons while the 1958 Bees will be trying just as hard not to topple from the title perch. After only a weeks practice, little is known about the Jordan team. The Beetdiggers sunk to a low ebb during the past two seasons, probably the poorest consecutive years in hte schools grid history. Wheeler, sports director, Ila Gibbs and Jolene Yates; third row, Lynda Ilunsaker, Judy Yates, Ann Wheatley, Karol Glenn and Kaye Dean Nielsen. Vonnie Yates, a team member, was absent at time of picture. Corinne Ward Summer Primary Closes. As Children Present Dance Festival By Mrs. Alice F. Davis The Corinne ward Primary held their dance festival and so ciat for the summer Primary on Wednesday evening. Each class performed well for the parents and all who attended. Quite a number of special awards were given to the boys and girls with r e c o r ds. perfect attendance President Grace Warnake took charge of the program. The dance leaders, Susie Ferry and Edna Hardy, were assisted by each group teacher. The program was splendid. Miss Vesta Ferry, teacher at the McKinley school at has been attending school at the Utah State University this summer. Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Wulf returned home this week from a delightful trip. They first went to Portland, Ore. and Vancouver, Wash, for a few days. Then they went up into Vancouver, Canada, where they found a centennial celebration (100th) going on in the beautiful city there. They enjoyed the parade and other attractions and then journeyed east into the forest of Canada. They went on to Glacier park and traveled on the road called Going to the Sun and saw the Weeping Wall of rock. At Great Falls, Mont., they enjoyed sightseeing. Near Hardon, Mont., they visited the site of Custers Last Stand and heard of events that took place at that point. At Rapid City, N. D., the Wulfs visited with Dorothys sister, also her brother and sister at Chadron, Neb., and with her mother at Gordon, Neb. They returned home by way of Grand Island on highway 30. They report a wonderful trip but its always good to get home. Attending were: Mrs. Doiores Harper and her four children; Mrs. Susie Ferry and three children; Mrs. Fay Hansen with her two children; Randall and Brad Norman; Steven, Kenneth and Eva Jean Harper; Michael and Eileen Nelson; Julie and LaNell Rasmussen, Mrs Leona Rasmussen and the hostess who served the refreshments. Mrs. Amelia Rohwer was entertained on Wednesday evening by members of the Neigh-borett- e club at her home. A special birthday cake and gift were presented to Mrs. Rohwer in honor of her 83rd birthday on Sept. 1. Mrs. Elva Rounndy was hostess to the Jolly Time Birthday club at her home on Friday. Luncheon was served to twelve guests. Ken and his wife are moving to Monterey, Calif., for a new position there. Bruce Wright was a winner at the Box Elder County Fair Talent show. His speech won him $10 and a chance to go into state competition. Dr. and Mrg. Grant Reeder of Garland were visiting with relative and friends here on Labor Day. Piano students of Mrs. Wanda entertained their Thompson mothers at a recital held at the home of Mrs. Savilla Ilunsaker on Friday evening. Taking part were: Bruce Thompson, Darrel Barker, Karen Barker, Sharon Young, Tnel Young, Ann Nesegi, Marsha Gilbert, Carla Gilbert, Elaine Wankier, Vicki Johnsen, Nondus Jensen, Judy Nisegi, Renee Nisegi, Linda McRea, and lone Ilunsaker. Light refreshments were served by M r s. Thompson. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Stevens, Misses Charlotte and Nancy Carver of Portland, Ore ; Mrs. Mary A. Stevens of Ogden, and Doyle Rasmussen and family of Corinne were dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Rasmussen on Thursday. An enjoyable day was spent visiting.
