Show Director Answers; Puzzling Questions In answer to recent inquiries Charles I. Fox, District Director of the Internal Revenue Service, is reminding parents of youngsters working during summer vacation that they may, under certain circumstances, claim their children as full exemptions for Federal income tax purposes. The children may be entitled to refunds in whole or in part of income taxes withheld from their wages during their employment. The special exemption rule, Fox explained, applies to children who will still be under 19 years of age at the end of the year and to children who are e students, regardless of full-tim- their age. Exemption may be claimed by parents if they contribute more than half the childs support, regardless of the amount earned by the child. This new law was passed by Congress in 1954. Children 19 and over must be engaged in full-tim-e study at a institurecognized educational tion for at least five months of the year or must be pursuing a e accredited training program. full-tim- on-far- , Former Brigham Man and Family Returns From Year at University in Philippines Dr. and Mrs. Roy T. Fullmer Allred, County Agent, Box Elder County. Feeding quality of silage depends upon the methods used in filling the silo as well as upon the forage with which it is loaded, says George Henderson, Extension Animal Husbandry specialist. And quality is usually determined within a few hours after ensiling because thats when the fermentation process important to preservation takes place, he further stated. Forage tramped, weighted and ' sealed immediately usually makes good quality silage. However, forage left loose and unsealed for two days will spoil. These facts have been brought out through USDA experiments. Another factor in silage quality, adds Professor Henderson, is the type of plant used in silage. Tests show alfalfa consistently makes better silage than orchard grass, despite the latters high sugar content. . , Tips on Touring mm By Carol Lane Woman's Travel Authority Keep Cool While Driving Want to beat the heat during your summer motoring excursions?
