Show LtbAL NOIlCtb Husbands Honored at Fourth Ward Relief Society Birthday Dinner Monday Erening Husbands of members of the Olivia Knight. Fourth ward Relief society were Musical numbers were presenhonored at the 115th birthday ted under the direction of Mrs. party of the organization on Monday evening in the ward recreation hall. Guests numbering 100 were seated at long tables attractively decorated in keeping with a St. Patricks Day theme. Green and yellow streamers centered the tables, with large green shamrocks bearing the dates of 1842 and 1057 being placed at intervals along the table. Miniature green Irish hats trimmed clovers with white marked the individual places. Large vases of pussy willows also added to the decorations of the hall. the Amy Phillips welcomed guests. George A. Nielson offered the opening prayer and the blessing on the food. A delicious hot dinner was served. s Elizabeth Peters acted as and introduced the following program: Two vocal selections were sung by Vern Petersen, Alvin Morris, Serell Nelson, Delmont Beecher, M. J. Richards and Clark Rasmussen, accompanied by Nina Beecher. A skit featuring the origin of the Relief society organization was presented by Mrs. Clara Frost, Mrs. Dawn Usatuck and Kathy Usatuck. Toasts were given during the evening to Sarah Rasmussen, social science leader, by Arda Everton; to Abbie Maden, theo-lig-y leader, by Nadine Stratford; to Ablerta Munson, arts and crafts leader, by Alta Shaw; to Elizabeth Peters, foods leader, by Berniece Anderson; Mabel Forsgren, literary leader, by Vivian Marsden; and to Maud Beecher, visiting instructor, by four-leafe- d toast-mistres- Marjorie Christiansen, with Paulette Lichtenstein as accompanist. Kathy Usatuck sang "Teach Me to Pray." Jill Candland and Darwin Alder, in appropriate dress, sang Walking My Baby Back Home. Danny Boy was sung by Jill Anderson. A duet Youre In Love," was sung by Diane Mesham and Bob Watts. A toast to the Relief society organization was given in Danish dialect by Glen Knudsen, and Georgia Petersen gave a toast to the men present. Paulette Lichtenstein 'sang a vocal solo as the final number on the program. General chairman of the evening were Mrs. Pearl Hunsaker, Mrs. Alta Shaw and Mrs. Amy Phillips, members of the Relief society presidency, assisted by various committees. Mrs. Lola Nielsen was chairman of the foods committee, assisted by Mrs. Ivy Fuller, Mrs. Grace Beasley, Mrs. Idonna Hamilton, Mrs. Mabel Forsgren, Mrs. Marjorie Clark and Mrs. Ella Abel. Mrs. Alberta Munson planned and prepared the decorations. Mrs. Ella Johnson was program chairman, assisted by Marjorie Christiansen. Mrs. Hunsaker announced that the Relief societys birthday gift to the organization for 1957 was a beautiful lace table cloth and five dozen drinking glasses. These will be for the use of the Relief society organization only, Mrs. Hunsaker pointed out.
