Following the ceremony a reception and dance were held for a host of friends and relatives of the young couple. Lovely Bride For her wedding and reception the lovely bride chose a full length ' gown of imported appliqued lace over pleated nylon tulle and white slipper satin . The bouffant skirt drifted into a chapel train. Matching gloves completed the ensemble. Her fingertip length veil was caught up by a taira of seed pearls. The bridal bouquet was an arrangement of pink carna tions and small white blooms surrounding a single white orchid. Dinner Party Fetes Mrs. John W. Owen on 85th Birthday Anniversary Mrs. Mary E. Halverson Owen celebrated her 85th quietly Sunday, birthday anniversary July 8, at a family dinner at , the Idle Isle. Busy this past week with her son and family from Walla Walla, Wash, and her daughter Mrs. from Lynwood, Calif, Owen has put aside her usuel knitting and crocheting to catch up with visiting with her children. Still Knits Although she Is unable to see more than a few feet, Mrs. Owen spends her days listening to the radio, keeping up with the news broadcasted and with her crochet hook and 'knitting needles her constant companions. Fine work is a thing of the past but heavy yarn, bright sunlight and colored hooks and needles make it possible to keep going with a lifetime hobby in spite of failing eyesight. Mrs. Owen was born Mary E. Halverson, daughter of Simon Fredrick and Kristina Gunderson Turborg .Halverson in Marriott, Weber county July 8, 1871. she Recalling her education told of attending school In a one room school house with 59 other students and one teach er. Her twin brothers, James E, now deceased, and George Halverson now 88, living in Cali fornia, left the one room school and passed entrance tests into the University of Utah.
