Show I Pet Me? PARK VALLEY REPORTS Community Dinner and Program Marks r Mrs. R. E. Palmer Mrs. LeGrand Morris has been visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Max Kursten In Ogden. Mrs. Kursten has been very ill In the hospital. Tiny Jackie Gay Hirschi, small daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dee Hirschi, had her collar hone broken last week when she ran under a swing where older children were swinging. Mr. and Mrs. Fred J. Hirschi were honored recently with a community celebration on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary. A community din-tie- r honored the couple at 2 Oclock when a delicious hot chicken and turkey dinner was served. In the evening a program of local talent was given with Glen Larsen acting as master of ceremonies. This was followed by a program from Brigham City given by Mr. and Mrs. Harold B Felt, Mrs. Cliss Davis and perc Petersen. Refreshments and visiting completed an enjoyable day. The programs were very entertaining and enjoyed by a laTge group. Besides receiving from all local people the fallowing sisters and brothers were In attendance, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Earl, Mrs. Della Taylor from Brigham City; Mrs. Eva Badger of Burley, Idaho; Mrs. Valentine and Mrs. Slat-te- r and son from Salt Lake City, find'Mfs. Rose Larsen and Oscar Larsen from Park Valley. Among friends and relthe atives attending were President and Mrs. Coltn H. Sweeten of Malad, Mr. and Mrs. D. G. Kelson of Snowville, President and Mrs, Robert Potter and Mrs. Mr. Ruby Nielson of Garland; And Mrs. Howard Larsen and Mr. And Mrs. Sherwln Larsen of Logan; Mr. and Mrs.- Glen Larsen of Burley; Mr. and Mrs. n Harvey Badger of Burley and many others. Mrs. Ferris James, Mrs. Alvin James, Mrs. Dee Hirschi, Mrs. Rex Pugsley, Mrs. Ford Hirschi, Mrs. Louis Hirschi and were Mrs. Wallace Larsen among those who arranged the celebration. Ward conference iwas held on Sunday evening, Oet. 30. A leadership meeting of all ward officers and teachers was held at 7 p. m. with President Robert Potter, President Vernal B Johns, Alma Larkin, Mrs. Potter and Mrs. Johns and Bishop Kenneth G. Carter giving talks. At 8 p. m., ward conference was continued at sacrament meeting. Speakers at this session were President Potter, President Johns, High Councilman Alma Larkin and Bishop Carter. A vocal selection was given by Greg and Nancy Rose, small son pnd daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Rose, and an organ solo by Christina Carter. Mr. and Mrs. Fred J. Hirschi an4 Mrs. Ferd Hirschi are vacationing In Callifonla. Deer hunters were not as numerous as usual this year and the deer not so plentiful, which Is probably caused by the severe drouth which this part of the county has suffered . the past several years. The drouth situation is very serious here. Except for a brief rainstorm on Oct. 19, we have not had any storm or moisture this fall. Following a vocal solo by Rus ty Jensen, several reports were made by FFA members. Wynn Parker told about his exper iences at the National FFA convention.
