Air Force officials were present for both meetings and were in charge of the program, explaining the purposes of the ground observer corps, how It is organized and the function it plays in the nations CSvil Defense program. Such units have only recently been organized In Utah, with the establishment of a statewide filter center, at Salt Lake City where unidentified planes can be tracked across the state as reports are received from the 400 listening posts the Air Force hopes to establish. Four of these will be in Box Elder county, the Brigham City post being, the first, with additional posts at Snowville, Penrose and in the Tremonton-Gar-lanarea.
