Wash. (UP) The Bureau of Reclamation using television to inspect' the bottom of the spillway of Grand Coulee dam, the worlds largest hydro-electri- plant. c The TV device used includes a television camera which is taken to the base, or bucket, of the dam by a deep sea diver. The diver focuses the camera on the structure and the picture is conveyed by cable to engineers atop the dam. Engineers say previous inspections of the bottom of the spillway had been made by divers, but this was not satisfac- tory because the divers were not trained to make the necessary observations. The TV picture gives the engineers an accurate idea of what repairs are needed to the underwater portion of the dam which is eroded by water rushing over the spillway. , nwrpii ,w SSXWJ, KHLV GREVHOOJIKIE) gives you all this!
