Highlight of the convention for the Epsilon chapter was the presentation of a crate of Brgi-haCity peaches to Virginia Young of Kansas City who is editor of the sorority magazine, "The Torch. Mrs. Elease in the afternoon. Hendersen of Logan is the mother of the groom. Bishop Vernon L. Johnsen, uncle of the bride, performed the ceremony in the presence of the families and two immediate friends. To take their marriage vow's the couple stood before a setting of pastel colored gladioli in tall baskets flanked by white tapers in seven branch candelabra. Lovely vases of garden flowers decorated the room. The bride, given in marriage beautiful in by her father, a white embossed china silk made from material gowm, brought from China by the groom during the war. The gown was styled with a tight fitting bodice, with a low cut neck line and a full skirt en train. Her veil of brides illusion fell from a tiara of white carnations. She carried a brides bouquet of a baby orchids centered with large orchid and tied wdth white satin and lace ribbons. She Chose as her matron of honor Mrs. Clem Hendersen who wore a pale blue gown. Her bouquet, styled after the brides, was of baby chrysanthemums tied with pink satin streamers. The bridesmaids, Gloria Vee Johnsen, Gay Nell Johnsen, sisters of the bride, and Fae Ann Huggins wore identical gowns of rose pink taffeta. Mrs. Johnsen chose a model of "blue all over new lace pattern and Mrs. Hendersen wore a royal blue gown. Their corsages were of talisman roses. Clem Hendersen, twin brother of the groom, was best man. Mrs. Margaret Johnsen played the bridal music. Following the ceremony a wedding breakfast was served to 28 guests. A reception was held that evening in the ward recreational hall with over three hundred guests attending. The serving table was decowedrated with a thTee-tiereding cake topped with wedding bells holding the names of Elyse and Carl. Love birds surrounded the bottom of the cake.
