Veteran Benefits Indications Good W f And See The Finest Of the 75,000 veterans of world war TI now residing in Utah, 30,900 of them have filed claims for readjustment of allowances, it was announced toy the Industrial Commission of Utah. Among these were 2,932 veterans who filed claims when the profits from their business ventures fell below $100 a month. Only 5.3 percent of those w'ho exhausted their filed claims benefits. The average length of time the claims were used was 14 weeks out of a maximum of amount 52 weeks. The total to Utah paid in allowances Veterans was $11,534,284, the commission announced. July 25, 1949, is officially the ending date for the program for veterans discharged prior to Jul y26, 1947. However, men unand women who der the voluntary recruitment act between October 6, 1945, and October 5, 1946, and those who had service prior to July 25, 1947, but were discharged after that date, may be entitled to further benefits. These veterans should consult with the readjustment allowance specialists in the local oflfices of the Department of employment security if they are in doubt regarding their rights to benefits. 50 25c Over-mt- e 25 Only are conveyed to motorists along Main street by the sign being read by Gordon Reeves. The sign is one of two which the Brigham City Junior Chamber of Commerce had built and painted, extending a welcome to Brigham City and calling attention to the Bear River Migratory Bird refuge. This sign, located just in front of the court house, will be particularly useful in that it points the way to the refuge.
