Calamity Jane. Home And Community Section Meeting Thur. Several year ago when Bushnell was active many people came to Brigham lo see their loved ones who were stationed at BushnelL This caused a critical housing shortage. All the motels and hotels were filled to their capacity. The Chamber of Commerce made a plea tor those who had a spare room to share it with others. I didn't exactly have a 'spare' room, but I soon made one. Then 1 ran am ad "Boom for in the Rent." The way the phone kept ringing in answer to my ad one would have thought my home was Grand Central Station. A mother who was visiting her son at Bushnell was about the sixth person who called. She had stayed the limited time at the hotel and was unroom. able to find another While she was waiting for the bus to take her back home to Wyoming, she happened to pick up the local paper and glance through the wan ads, and lo her surprise she saw my ad. Of course I let her have the .room. She stayed several months and went io see her son every day possible. She said she would always be grateful that she had happened lo read the ad in the as it made it possible that she could be with her son, who greatly needed her then.
