(2) If I remain in college and complete this, my becond year, will I he able to get a deferment so as to apply for aviation cadet training? (3) When are you in your office. Ive made three unsuccessful trips to your office without finding you in. A Friend. 10, 1948 Dear Sir: (1) 1 dont know how many selectees will be taken from Box Elder county each month and I have no way of finding out as they will vary from month to month in accordance with quotas set by the War department as passed on by the state director of selective service. Quotas for the draft will be governed to a great extent by the number of volunteers from this area. (2) Yes, you can be granted a deferral so that you can complete your seeond year in college and you will have the opportunity to apply as an aviation cadet, providing you apply upon completion immediately of the school year and pass a 11, the entrance requirements. the I suggest that you come to office to talk this over further so that everything can be coordinated and your qualifications verified.
