Young, She was born November 17, 1S63 in Salt Lake City, a daughter of David and Annie Shackelton Bowen. The family made their home in Samaria, Idaho, where she later served as a school teacher. She married Thomas C. Young on July 7, 1S84, in the Logan temple and they made their home in Perry, at that time known as Three Mile Creek. Her husband was a school teacher of'the Box Elder in several county schools and also established and operated a fruit farm in Perry. Mrs. Young was active in the L.D.S. church and served as president of the religion class and was an active worker in the relief society of the Perry ward. She, with her husband, moved to Brigham City in 1922 and made their home in the First W'ard where , she has resided since. Her husband died February 22, 1944 She is survived by the following sons and two daughters: Attorney LeRoy B. Young, Ogden; Mrs. Mary Y. Holman, Brigham City; and Stella Young, Ft. Wingate, N. M. Attorney Earnest T. Young, another son, died February 7, 1947. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: David John Bowen, Pocatello; Lewis J. and C. F. and Elder A. E. It w'as not know'n they w'ere overdue until 2 oclock Monday morning, and aerial search parties sighted them at o'clock Monday afternoon, standing by the plane and signaling that they were all right. The airplane was sighted at 12:30 oclock Monday afternoon by Lt. Melvin B, Baird and Robert Ballard in a C. A. A. search plane The Penroses signaled they were ail right, and blankets and warm food were dropped to them. The state highway patrol was notified of their location. Highway patrol automobiles had difficulty th reaching scene, The plane had landed about four miles due east of h e abandoned Locomotive Springs air field, about 28 miles southwest of Snowville. One flier landed hi plane on the roadway, a few miles from the abandoned salt mine, then took off for help in removing the family by air. Two other planes later were landed on the roadway. It was reported that cylinder apparently had broken and battered the engine of the Penrose plane considerably. Penrosg, piloted one of the rescue planes out of the .area, and the pilot of the other plane carried out Mrs. Penrose and Marilyn. Sarah Jane Loveland Steed, died in a local hospital at 12:30 oclock Monday morning following an extended Illness. She was born August 6, 1862, at Call's Fort, the daughter of Chester Carlos Loveland and Mary Ann Burns Loveland. She was reared and educated in Box Elder county and married Henry Lee Steed, June 18, 1864 in the Logan temple. She had two sons, both preceding her in death. Her husband died 36 years ago. She was a member of the L. D. S. church. She is survived by ten grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Her husband w'as president of a mission in New Zealand and Mrs. Steed accompanied him. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 oclock Friday afternoon in the Harold B, Felt Funeral home. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday evening and Friday until time of services.
