We arent exactly suckers when we fall n for the fast lines of these who come in selling books, magazines, gadgets, appliances and something-for-nothin- g deals. The boys who make their living at selling are good. They have to be good. They must be good enough to make a living with just about any kind of a pitch. They have to tackle people who have been stung, or into buying something they didnt need, before. And talk them into doing it all over again. They have to sell their product at far above its actual value, in order to meet the comparatively high sales expense of selling. Usually, the salesmans nut is about fifty per cent of the total amount of a days sales. It costs money to keep a man on the road travel, hotel bills, meals in cafes. And do you think our company, which is introducing a new product, is footing the bill out of its own pocket? It is to high-pressu- Historian, D.U.P. On October 12, 1834 she married Charles Alice Harding, Theres an old saying, a colleague advises, that if you take medicine and correct your diet and take care of yourselves, you can get rid of a cold in two weeks. If you ignore it and just let it run its course, it will last a fortnight. But Old Doc and other medical scientists have improved on this situation greatly. If you take a series of something like a dozen shots, then take two capsules a week for 26 weeks, you can virtually immunize yourself against colds. Of course, this series of treatments must be repeated twice a year. The vigorous and ambitious campaign wont actually keep you from catching cold, but it will pull its teeth, you might say. It will take the sting out of a cold. It will fix you so the cold will last only two or three days. You catch the virus, they live three days, then they die and the cold is gone. Of course, youre all ready to catch the cold and in your again, immediately condition probably more so. And your arm will resemble a pin cushion. well-use- d However, many, many people would prefer ten colds a month to two colds a month. Consequently many, many people take the dozen shots and the 52 capsules and are, for all practical purposes, immune from the common cold. Right after the common cold, on the annual calendar of this colmn, comes the insurance discussion. Dont know why it is, but in our gang every year along after Christmas sometime we get concerned with insurance. Like religion and education, its a good topic for general discussion because you never wear it out, everyone has an opinion and nobody knows anything about it. steers and one pair of cows. Chaffon took the Merreli family to his home, a house of two small rooms. As soon as possible the family moved to the north side of town where they resided until spring when friends arranged for them to move to South Farmington. Here Mrs. Merrill met Samuel B. He moved Mrs. Hardy and her family to Willard, Box Elder county, where three of her children, Mrs. Omer Call, Orson and John Fenley were residing. They provided a home for her and her family, Joseph Charles 13, William 11, Mary Jane Merrill 8, and Matilda 5, Martha 2 and Sarah Hardy. The latter was 'born 12 days after their arrival in Willard.
