Miss Whaley participated in the Weber college Christmas Oratorio, A Child Is Born, by last Roland Parry, presented Sunday evening at the Ogden high school. Joseph Cutler of Snowville visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alma Davis last Sunday. Mrs. Wendell Nebcker spent the past week at the home of her daughter and Mr. and Mrs. Hank Bortalussi in Salt Lake City, who are happy over the arrival of a new baby son-in-la- an at Idaho Falls. Fernand Hansen of American Fails, Idaho, spent the past week visiting at the home of Mr, and Mrs. Raymond Hansen. They were dinner guests last Thursday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Snyder of Salt Lake City. They were accompanied by Mrs. Verna Jeppson of Brigham City. Outgoing Bishopric Honored A social w'as held in the Perry ward hall last Thursday evening honoring outgoing Bishop Douglas Quayle and Counselor Ezra Weaver, with Eugene Bott as master of ceremonies. Barbara Billings, Janet Young, Wilma Walker and Barbara Davis entertained with original songs and skit, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Richard Pixton and son Dick of Salt Lake City, were last Sunday visitors at tne home of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac A. ioung. Mrs. Sylvia Dunn of Thatcher spent a few days last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Whaley, al o Mrs. Susie Evans of Ogden is slaying W'ith Mrs. Whaley who is ill. Norman, Skarnes street, Sor Odalen, Norway. Although only six weeks in the mission field, he is applying himself to learning the language and the ways of the people. It is about 12 below zero there and he has to bundle up to keep warm and travels on a bicycle as it is a country district. Missionaries have not been in that part for twenty-fivyears. The people are very and friendly, ail they have had as many as 75 people come out to a cottage meeting. He is enjoying the work, and making friends. Only a week in the field he and his companion Kenneth Peck of Shelley, Idaho, a former resident of Brigham City and student at Box Elder high school, left the bus at Winslow, Ariz.. and were immediately put to work helping other missionaries distribute food and clothing that the people of Utah had sent down to the starving Indians. They have been working out of Flagstaff (about 12 below there) and at Cameron and as far north as the Utah border where they met a large P. I. E. truck from Utah with more food and clothing.
