I have seen them all in action first hand. On the contrary 1 have always had a feeling cf pride in being a patron of our schools and a representative of our district organization. I have always felt that we were at the top of the list, and that is still my firm belief. During my term of office no single board member, let alone a majority of the board, has ever made a statement in our meetings to shake tnat belief. In respect to Mr. Harmon, I will say that I have knowm him well and intimately for about 27 years and I have the veiy highest regard for him and foi his ability as a school admim--trato- r. It is true that at no time in the last ten years at least has any gtoup made any to complaint or lepresentation the Board of Education against the manner in which he had conducted himself or his assigned part in school affairs. On the contrary I have heard compli mental v comments as to his ability, m and progre&Jveness his duties. Of course the veiv nature of his work in the scho system demanded that he be the arbiter in any rnLundeistand- ings or disputes wnich might occur the patron.-- , between jteacheis or students throughout the district. And in so acting it is inevitable that some s nal feelings might arise. these have always been of a veiy minor natuie, and, to m knowledge, Mr. Harmon has a!- way- - acted upon instruction- from the board and always with1 its suppoit. Now, considering the admitted facts, that no complaints m representation have ever been made against Mr. Harmon up to Dec. 31. 1946, and the furthei fact that he has given 32 yeai.--1 of faithful, efficient service in various capacities to this di- trict, and the further fact that at ro time up until that date haa the B aid of Education evei seen lit to reprimand or in an way curtail his proper activitie-- , to me the action of the Bo.ud of Education as of Jan. 13, 1947 in suddenly dismissing Mr. Harmon is entirely inexplicable. I think a full and complete explanation is due, not only to Mr. Harmon but to the patrons of the schools who also are vt- tally affected bv that diastiCi decision Wny all that "no on Page Four) GARBAGE YOlIt - N.
