The Star Spangled Banner was composed in 1814... a hundred years or more before many of the boys who fight to defend and preserve the flag today were born. And still today the words ring true . . . But Americans were people with courage, the faith, to push on, looking for a better land, a better place to live. Surely young Francis Key anticipated a tomorrow of which he could not know. We know that our lands greatest eras are ahead . . . that you, the boys out there fighting to save 15 Msh hese past few years have brought a deeper meaning to the thought . . . The land pf the free . . . To the limit of our capacities, we suffer with you, and share burning conviction with you that victory is inevitable. Box Elder county and every citizen is backing you up, boys, with you in this fight. But we arent boasting. In view of your great sacrifices, we can but be humble that our part must be so small. 1 And finally, you fellows and girls around the world who know Box Elder as home, we pledge our county and its people that we will keep the faith, that we will not forget.
