Dailey was born, raised and educated in Aberdeen, Idaho. Married to the former Merilynn Hatch, they are parents of three children. bachelors degree in general education from the Idaho State College in Pocatello, Idaho and the University of Omaha in Neb. During his service period in the Air Force, Mr. Dailey was stationed in several of the states as well as saw duty in Guam, Vietnam and the Philippine Islands. His active duty to country was concluded after four years at Hill Air Force Base and he and his family decided to settle in this part of the country where they have been active and contributing members of the East Layton community for the past four years. MR. DALLEY is known for his work with the Boy Scouts as well as many other civic and religious oriented activi- ties. He is presently employed as a Davis County deputy assessor. Vard Dailey enjoys and welcomes community involvement and is not afraid to speak out on issues which affect the welfare of the citizens of the community. He is as interested in growth and progress as anyone, so long as it is tempered by intelligent and sincere appreciation for the present unique characteristics and heritage of East Layton, he says. HE STRONGLY advocates a program of planned growth for the city, provided by a good master plan that will also insure the citizens the most for their tax dollars. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wilko returned home Sunday after spending three days in Phoenix, Ariz. The purpose of the trip was to attend a series of meetings for all regional representatives of American Savings. The women enjoyed shopping, sightseeing and sports during the days while their husbands were in business meetings. Cecelia an Auxiliary member since February 1969. Both John and Cecelia have been a great asset to the Eagles and their community. Mayor DeWitt was appointed mayor of East Layton in May of 1976. He had previously served as a councilman and chairman of the Planning Commission. He is a past president of the Layton Kiwanis Club and is currently elected Aerie officers are Tom Orrell, jr. Perhaps the most interesting part of the tour was the experience of going through the U.S. submarine "Tang. They were impressed with the compact quarters in the submarine and the ships ability to exist independently underwater. Everything in the submarine is recycled and used continuously until the ship surfaces. Brent Higgs, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Allan Higgs, is recovering at home after undergoing foot surgery to remove a pin that was accidently embedded in his foot. Saturday, Dan Harris was the guest of honor at an open house given by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. Earl Harris. The scouts clipped grass from around the headstones and cleaned the monuments that needed special attention.
