There are seven vehicles equipped to handle any service. They have one emergency or rescue truck, also used as the fire command truck, three fire pumpers, one 1,500 gallon per minute pumper truck that was recently purchased, two drive brush trucks and one 1,200 gallon tanker. four-whe- OF THE calls received by the fire department, a large percentage are emergency medical calls. The firemen wish to alert the residents that Kaysville of they are trained and equipped for your calls and want them to use this service that is available to them. . Twenty of the firemen have had extensive medical training in C1M (Crash Injury Management) course which is sponsored by the Utah State Emergency and Medical Services. This is the same type of training as the paramedics eceive. All 20 men are certified. THEY ARE trained as first responders to give care and sustain life until a doctor or . have completed advanced first aid and other extensive courses in emergencies, which is true, and they are prepared through the fire phone system to reach the sick or injured persons company. There are ten fire phones stationed throughout tht city, with 24 hour service. If the men are away, some of the wives are at home all hours of the day and night. Some of the men live within 30 seconds of the fire station. These fire phones are a miraculous source. THE FIRST person to answer the fire phone, takes the call and sets off the alarm. This person then stays on the line until a fireman answers from the fire station. He then gives the information and dispatches the trucks. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Purdy and daughter Susan visited in Island Park, Idaho with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Iverson at their summer home. Joe Thorson, 24 year old son of Rick and Mary Ann Thorson has been confined to the Davis North Medical Center where he has been treatment pneumonia. Mrs. Marilyn for Milam arrived by plane from Hurst, Tex. to be with her mother, Mrs. Marcia Mansell who has undergone three major surgeries the past 10 days at the St. Marks Hospital. Mrs. is Mansell's condition improving. Mr. and Mrs. Val Weaver and two children, Bryce and Lisa of Novota, Calif, have been visiting for the past 10 days with his mother, Mrs. Louis Weaver and with Michelle Weaver of Layton and Brad Weaver of Salt Lake City. Michelle is the granddaughter of Mrs. Louis Weaver. Visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Webster and family are his sister and brother-in-laMr. and Mrs. James Taa from El Monte, Calif, who will be in Kaysville with relatives for two weeks. Michael arrived Thursday, July 21 and will be attending Davis High School during the 1977-7- 8 school year. Elder Gary Harris returned home from serving a two-yeLDS Mission to the Chile Mission. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Harris of Fruit Heights. He gave his mission report in the Fruit Heights First LDS Ward Sacrament meeting on July 24.
