Vista School SVloBDfe Readies Graduation c i Monte Vista School in Farmington held graduation services and awards program at (he school on Thursday, May Davis District. Two musical numbers by students and special Olympics report by Lex Marcusen. 19. f A BANQUET preceded the special program with seventy guests and was prepared by, toy Deen Howell and Ida! Mikesell. The tables were! decorated with hand made roses. Students from Bountiful High School served the dinner, they were Michelle Bean, Sharon Bearnson, Lisa Brown, Colene Hayes, LeAnn Jarrard and Chris Leishman. These girls volunteer for one hour every day, a practical learning experience for them, in various places at the :. School. ABOUT 170 friends and relatives were present for the graduation Graduating program. seniors were Michael G. Boulden of Bountiful; Janet Harmer, Layton; Pamela A. Moss, Clearfield and David R. Thomas, Sunset. Rulon Smith, head teacher was in charge of the program. The pledge of allegiance was led by Craig Snow. Next was the introduction of special guests, Phill Hardy, Special Education Superintendent, State Department; Roy Evans, Director of Pupil Personnel and Henry Emery, Coordinater of Special Ed., MUSICAL numbers by students and tributes to teachers and aides at the school and a special tribute to an outstanding teacher, Mrs. Lorene C. Andersen. The1 tribute was given by Henry (Hank) Emery, written by Rulon N. Smith, Administra- tor at the school. Exerpts from the tribute, she exhibits qualities of love and understanding for her, students and their parents. She can accomplish wonders with the shy person or belligerent student. Has many talents and will tackle, with enthusiasm, any task she feels worthwhile. She has taught shop, gym, arts and crafts, home economics, reading, math and other subjects. MRS. ANDERSEN is always there where needed, has a talent to fit any task. She has probably served special education longer than any other teacher in Utah. I could believe it because I saw what my big sister (former Janis Blodgett of North Ogden) had gone through to get her sheepskin at Wednesday night ceremonies held at Bonneville class. Boulden of Bountiful, who has grown in stature as well as in skills. Has a friendly handshake for all. His favorite hobby is swinging, his agility, grace and speed at roller skating are phenomenal. Janet Harmer, Layton, is a capable and willing worker Is a whiz at sewing, will have a job in the workshop, is skilled and willing to work. PAMELA MOSS, Clearfield, likes people, has a loving personality and is liked by all. Is a good student and has proven her ability working in the workshop a half day the past months. David R. Thomas is everybodys friend, is the silent handsome type.
