HE WAS born March 12, 1311 in Layton, a son of David Christopher and Sophia Dickson Weaver. : He was married to Caryol L. Burton on October 6, 1937 In the Salt Lake LDS temple. PALLBEARERS were A. Grant Weaver, William D. Weaver, Max D. Weaver, Ronald D. Weaver, Donald D. Weaver and Melic Fadel. The care of flowers was under the direction of the Kaysvilie Eighth Ward Relief Society. Military honors were by Disabled American Veterans Chapter No. 14. -- .Navy Seabees. Mr. Weaver had been a of resident Kaysvilie and was educated County Schools. He was a member of the Kaysvilie Eighth LDS ward and had been secretary of the rSeventies Quorum, served in 'the Superintendency of the Sunday School and also worked in the YMMIA and tscouting programs. : since 1941 In Davis -- '-of SURVIVING are his widow Kaysvilie, two sons and one daughter, Val B. Weaver of Novato, California, Brad B. Weaver, Salt Lake City; Mrs. :Robert (Kaye) McEwen, "Kaysvilie; four grandchildren ;and five brothers and one :sister, William D. Weaver, Clearfield; Max D. Weaver, zvOrem: A. Grant Weaver, Donald D. Weaver and Ronald D. Weaver both of and Mrs. Melic (Beth) : Fadel of Bountiful. Burial was in the Kaysvilie - Og-de- n; Layton Memorial Park invited to attend. Special music for this meeting will be by the Weber Heights Stake Youth choir, also of Ogden. ELDER Kinard a resident of Bountiful, was reared and resided in Layton until a few years ago. Graduated from ' Davis High School in 1958. He served an LDS Mission to Samoa from 1960 until 1963. He is married to Lynette Layton, also of Layton, and the couple has four children. He has been the voice of the Tabernacle world-famou- s Choir broadcast, the Spken Word, Music and 1972. since him known to millions of radio listeners and television viewers throughout the world. He is also Corporate News Director of KSL, Inc., a CBS television network Making located in Salt Lake City. City. One brother and one sister, Richard W. McArthur, presently serving a mission in Brussel, Belgium and Mrs. Dean J. (Kathie Jo) Christensen. Grant McArthur, 27, of 175 West 400 South, died Monday at the University of Utah hospital of cancer. Michael HE WAS bom May 17, 1949, in Salt Lake City, a son of Grant Lillie and Vivian Bowl-de- n McArthur. He married Becky Dawn Branch, December 13, 1969, in Bountiful. The marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, on May 1, 1974. FUNERAL services were held Thursday at 12 noon at the Kaysvilie Seventh LDS Ward. Burial was in the Bountiful Memorial Park. He served a Gulf States LDS Mission and was administrative presently secretary of the Council of Twelve Apostles of the LDS Church. Book Chairman; J. SPENCER KINARD ELDER Kinard joined the staff as a reporter, producer and anchorman for the weekend news, in 1965. He received his BS degree in speech and journalism from the University of Utah in 1966. In 1968, he was one of eight U.S. newsmen selected to to HIS farewell testimonial training mission at Brigham Young University in Provo on September 2nd. KENT graduated from University. After completing this prest- igious assignment, he spent two years as a writer and producer for CBS news in New York City. Among his varied assignments, he was produce;- of a syndicated news service and also helped produce CBS Radio coverage of Apollo Flights 12, 13 and 14, and returned to KSL news in Davis High School as an Honor Graduate where he participated in debate, forensics and madrigals. He has been attending University of Utah for the past year. He has served as an officer in ail his Aaronic Priesthood Quorums. He has received his Duty to God Award and he is an Eagle 1971. Scout. been Outstanding ELDER Kinard has Young Man in America, and listed in Whos Who in the West. Elder and Mrs. Kinard have both been very active in the LDS church and have held positions of leadership in several auxiliary organizations. While they were residing in New York, Elder Kinard served as a counselor in the bishopric of the Rego Park, New York Ward. f THE MUSIC for this session will be under the direction of Bro. Vern Mauchley, the stake music director, and will consist of selections being rendered from a combined choir taken from all of the ward choirs of the stake. Accompanying this group of singers will be Randy Gailey, stake organist. Davis Fair The Davis County Bicen- tennial Fair festivities came to a glorious finale on Satur- day evening with a colorful fireworks display at the fairgrounds. THE FAIR opened on Thursday with exhibits for and conpublic viewing tinued through Saturday with a variety of programs each day for young and old. Senior Citizen Day was celebrated on Saturday with a luncheon. THE EVENTS of Saturday began with a prayer breakfast held in the Pioneer Village Pavilion. Then there was the Bicentennial parade which moved from Farmington to the fair grounds at Lagoon. President Spencer W. and Mrs. Kimball served as grand Davis marshals. Every County community was represented in the parade and several Salt Lake entries took part. The El Kalah Shrine led the parade on horseback carrying the flags of our country. PARADE winners were Kaysvilie City for the community class with a grand prize of $200 toward a flag pole and a plaque. Centerville City took the prize for theme entry.
