This is a fact that is saddening and sometimes embarrassing to me. Some think that my country is somewhere by Cuba while others think it is close by Hawaii. And still some dont even know it does exist. Once I met a lady and when I said I was from the Philippines, she wondered, "Where in the world is that? I 1 vA The Philippines is located m the Pacific Ocean, just off !' the southeast coast of Asia. The China Sea separates it V from the Asia mainland. It is an archipelago comprised of more than seven thousand islands. In the form of a triangle, it is a chain of islands, 152 miles north to south and 688 miles east to west. Its coastline stretches twice as long as the coastline of the U. S. The land aiea is 115,707 square miles. It is 30,791 square miles larger than the area of Utah: 21,000 square miles larger than Great Britain; 10 times the size of Belgium.
