Guests attending were Mrs. McBrides mother, Mrs. Naomi Hamblin, Mr. and Mrs. Emery Hamblin, Mrs. Beatrice Olsen, all of Clearfield; Mr. and Mrs, Royal Hamblin, Salt Lake City; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Todd, Hooper; Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Bills, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Hamblin, Mr. and Mrs. Parley Hamblin, all from Syracuse. Mr. and Mrs. Aliin Stuck! have planned a musical recital and dancing party for their intermediate pupils next Saturday afternoon at their Salt Lake studio. The afternoon will be spent with the students presenting piano numbers, followed by dancing and demonstrations by Mr. Stuck!. A birthday dinner in honor of Mrs. Ears Tlmsn was enjoyed at Maddox in Brigham City. Attending were Mr. and Mr. Tolman, Mr. and Mrs. Max Kennedy, and Mr. and Mrs. Myron Bodily. Linda Tolman will celebrate her birthday on May 10. A pleasant surprise was in store for Louise Broadbent Monday afternoon. A group of friends and neighbors gav a birthday luncheon for her at her home. She was called away during the morning, and upon her return home the ladies had lunch prepared and presented her with a gift. Mrs. Burton had also made each girl a miniature felt hat filled w 1th e sachet, with the following Clearfield Approximately 350 MIA Maids, their mothers, and guests attended the MIA Joy Festival held at the Syracuse chapel Monday. The evening was a climax to the years by the girls accomplishment from both the Clearfield and North Davis stakes. The award festival la held each year on a stake basis, with So percent of the girls in both stakes achieving their MIA Joy award this year. The stake was able to tii their Rose banquet. In order to do this, each ward in the stake must tie a Rose bonquet. Sixty percent of the girls in each ward must achieve a MIA Joy award, to be eligible to tie tire bouquet in the individual ward. Mrs. Ua Burton, stake MIA Maid leader, has looked forfor this ward enthusiastically special occasion, but due to illness was unable to attend. Her mother, Mrs. Smedley, was invited to attend in her place. LaVon Stuart, the new Stake leader tied the bouquet and presented it to Mrs. Smedley. A special musical number POT ROAST Lb. .
