Show Page ' 11 The REFLEX Juiy 18, 1957 Farmington Jens Katherine Hose, Phone Farm. 4I-- J Miss Karima Shmis of Bagdad in Iraq was the guest last week of Mrs. Karma Swindle, Davis County Home Demonstration agent. Miss Shmis has been in United States about 7 months and has been a student at Georgia State College. The next two months will be spent by her touring different parts of the United States and visiting the different county extension services. When she returns to her native country in October she will hold the position of Home Economist leader under the Iraq Land Development program. Miss Shmis was very interested in the program and commented how lucky the young people of United States were. Jo Ann Griffith Mrs. Jo Ann Griffith went by plane last Thursday to attend the commissioning exercises on Saturday for her husband Melvin Griffith. Mr. Griffith became a Second Lt, in the U. S. Air Force. The Griffiths returned to Farmington on Monday. George Dobsons Mr. and Mrs. George Dobson and son Chad spent a few days last week viewing the Grand Canyons. Their son Boyd is at an army camp in Yakima, Washington. He will be home this weekend. Idaho Guests Mr. and Mrs. George Manning and Charles Van Orden of Idaho Falls are guests in Farmington this weekend of Mrs. Manning's mother, Mrs. Bertha Spackman. They will all attend the Tucker family reunion at Lagoon on Sunday. The George Mannings will visit with Mr. Mannings mother, Mrs. George Manning Sr. in North By Farmington the home of their sister, Marie Oviatt. They had all been to Lagoon swimming earlier in the day.
