Treasurer Bond Issue To Be Aired at Town in Farmington Nov. 16 Meeting Issuance of the FARMINGTON hall and installation general obligation bonds to finance in the f7.1,0(Xi in improvement Farmington city culinary water system will be discussed at a town meeting called by city officials for Nor. 19 at 8:x p.m, at the county court house. Two basic needs of th waterworks system as recommended following a study by Caldwell, Richards and Sorenson, city engineers, is to provide an additional supply of culinary water during summer months when creek supplies dwindle and to enlarge certain parts of the distribution system to provide ample water through the distributing system with a minimum loss of head. The engineers advised that th water problem ran best be solved by (1) drilling a 12 inch well by of a city pump capable of delivering 400 gallons per minute into th system and (2) replacement of distribution lines with larger sixes of pip. . An ordinance was passed September 19, 1911. calling for an election on th bond issue to be held Nov. 23, 1911. City officials contemplate that the indebtness would be discharged over a 11 or 20 year period from revenues of tha water system; however, the citv council would also be authorised to discharge this obligation by an increased general tax levy on property in the city. Providing the majority of taxpayers vote in th affirmative on th bond issue, the city council will then proceed to issue general obligation bonds in th amount of 78, txxi. |
