"Accidents are killing persona under 20 years of age at the rate of 20, (xxi a year, he said. "Many of these accidents could be prevented by proper training and the development of safety attitudes on the part of parents and teachers as well as young people themselves." Mr. Davis explained that first aid training is an excellent means of reducing accidents because it develops an awareness to hazards. It also serves to minimize suffering and even save lives in case of accidents, he added. Many persons lost their lives in Davis County last year through accidents. Many others were seriously injured or tem porartly incapacitated. "In striving to keep accidents at a minimum in Davis County," Mrs. Davis said, the Red Cross will provide accident and first aid courses if desired by groups. Enrollment may e made in Bountiful, telephone 2.'0. i'ersons over 1.7 years of age may take the adult courses, he added. Courses for younger persons also are planner!, through the Junior Red Cross.
