Ralph Criddle, a friend of Thurgood, Was driving the coupe owned by hfr. Thurgood, when it struck a rough place in the road and turned over. There were six young people riding in the car at the time. None were seriously hurt, but the car was completely demolished. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Tree, Wilford Tree, and Kate Tree were Farming ton visitors during the week. Mrs. William Holt is' spending a few days visiting 'with relatives and friends in Willard. Mrs. Adam Russell of Salt Lake City spent a few days visiting with relatives in Syrucuse during the week. Talks were given by Miss LaJ'on Bennett, Dean Barber and William H. Wilcox. Dramatizations of Mothers lovo .were given by the kindergarten and cradle rolFc lasses. A song, The Dearest Name, was given by the Primary class. Each Mother of the ward was presented with a book, and special tributes were given to the oldest Mother, and the youngest Mother present. Mrs. Charles Barker of Clinton spent Saturday visiting friends in ' Syracuse. The Syracuse ball team won another victory Saturday whim it defeated the Roy team 5 to 4. The game was played on the Roy diamond. The team will play the Hooper team at Hooper Saturday. II. J. Mason, naturalist, who has been visiting some of the county schools exhibiting his collection of rare birds, monkeys, and pnakes,-vaat the Syracuse school Monday morning. He gave a very interesting exhibit and he also told of the life and habits of his animals. .He also described and exhibited poisonous snakes and gfcve the methods of giving first aic for snake bites.
