The campus presents the appearance of an abandoned and neglect ed farm instead of the leading institution of learning of a rigr and prosperous county. There is little excuse for this forlorn and dilapidated condition. The soil of the campus is rich and productive and the board of education received ten shares of irrigation water, a free gift, from citisens of Kays-vill- e. It is time the campus grounds were terraced, seeded to grass and trees. and shrubery planted. Located more ? d road in Utah on the n concrete high(the Salt way and the Bamber Electric railroad) ANN this campus when properly parked and taken care of would be one of the t beauty spots of Davis county and the state. It is true that the board of education has a hard time making ends meet, owing to shortage of funds, but a way can be found to improve the grounds about our high school building. As a matter of surroundings,' ts a matter of orderly improvement, as a matter of education in things orderly and pleasing, these conditions should be improved. Slovenly surroundings make for slovenly men and Women and youthful impressions remain with the individual through life. , Davis high is, to a large extent, the home of the youth of Davis county, and that home should be orderly, beautiful, inviting. For four years this dilapidated condition has existed fully long enough let the grounds be improved or turn the land and the water shares over to a Jap for farming. old-tim- self-deni- al ps ex-en- es g THE CHEAT HOM psuwt Ww IV A Free motor trips to Ogdens fine schools and industrial plants.
